Brazil exported 1.84 million tons of beef in 2019, at the total value of $7.59 billion, up 12.4%and 15.5 % respectively from 2018, both recorded highs, according to the data released Thursday by the Brazilian meat exporters association (ABIEC).
Data show that in 2019, China imported 494,000 tons of beef from Brazil, a total of $2.67 billion, up 53.2% and 80% from 2018 respectively, making China the largest export destination for Brazilian beef. It was followed by Egypt, Chile, the European Union, the united Arab emirates, Iran and Russia.
