The 15th China-ASEAN Expo (hereinafter referred to as CAEXPO) Sourcing Conference for ASEAN Food Products (hereinafter referred to as the Sourcing Conference), held jointly by the Secretariat of the China-ASEAN Expo and the Guangdong (China) Imported Food Association, was concluded successfully again in Nanning on September 13, 2018.
This Sourcing Conference has been held for three years, and the results have been remarkable. As one of the key professional business-matching meetings of the 15th CAEXPO, it attracted many professional food sellers and buyers from home and abroad. Forty overseas buyers from Spain, Pakistan, Cameroon, Bangladesh, India, Nepal and other countries attended the meeting. About 100 Chinese enterprises, including imported food distributors, supermarkets and e-commerce platforms, from the Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong and Macao also gained a lot in the meeting.
In order to enhance the effects of the meeting, the organizers provided precise pre-matching services for both sides. Through the pre-matching services, buyers and sellers could be informed of the precise procurement requirements and product information in advance, which effectively improved the efficiency of negotiation and the probability of on-site transaction. For example, this year for the first time, we held a cubilose procurement meeting at the Malaysia Pavilion, which had the most cubilose exhibitors, and invited 20 Chinese cubilose buyers to participate. The results were very satisfying. The Cubilose Committee of the Guangdong Imported Food Association has signed a five-year contract with the Malaysian government to further increase the purchase of cubilose. In the next five years, the Cubilose Committee and its members will purchase more than $2 billion worth of cubilose products from Malaysia. Additionally, Guangzhou Huangbao Trading Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Longpinyang Trading Co., Ltd. and Zhuhai Wanlian Yunyan Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. signed a total of $5 million worth of cubilose procurement agreement with Malaysia Royal Cubilose International, Royal Cubilose and Mayanzhuang Trading, among others.
